Well, after long flight from California, I arrived in Nashville early last night. Checked into the hotel and then headed immediately to a gig at a cool place  called 12th and Porter to see Ten Finger Orchestra, which consists of Paul Allen on guitar, bass, and percussion and Johnny Rabb on drums, vocals, and percussion. These guys were killing it! Allen demonstrated his ability to play his PRS  and Fender bass  simultaneously, and the two pulled off some incredible percussion jams—and even a drumstick juggling routine— over loops that Allen laid down on guitar and bass. Keyboardist Joseph Wooten from the Steve Miller band joined them on the Cameo tune “Word Up,” which turned into a blistering trade off of solos by Allen and Wooten. Amazing stuff. If you ever get an opportunity to catch one of the rare Ten Finger Orchestra shows, by all means do so! So today is the opening day of the NAMM show at the Nashville Convention Center, and I’ll be posting video and photos of cool stuff for that we find over the next three days. Stay tuned for updates on Guitarplayer.com and on GP's Facebook and Twitter pages.  —Art Thompson
