Deirdre Jones on Comes with the Fall

| November 8, 2009

An unexpected and pleasant surprise at the recent Alice In Chains show in San Francisco was seeing how much vocalist William DuVall was involved on guitar. If a big AIC fan like me was so woefully unaware of DuVall's contributions, I realized I probably wasn't the only one. So here's the story for those not in the know: AIC guitarist Jerry Cantrell first spotted DuVall and his band, Comes with the Fall, while performing in Los Angeles. Comes with the Fall eventually began opening up for Jerry before becoming his backup band. Seeing DuVall perform also made me realize that in order to write tell the whole AIC guitar story, I'd need to speak with DuVall as well. To get ready for the AIC feature (coming in the February 2009 issue), check out Comes with the Fall on, and peep this shot of DuVall at the San Francisco show courtesy of Scott Ferrera of EMG Pickups. —Deirdre Jones
