Berklee College of Music in Boston will honor Led Zeppelin's Jimmy Page with an an honorary Doctor of Music degree during the school's Commencement Weekend, May 9 and 10, and Page will then give the commencement address to the graduating students.
Certainly not a bad deal for the 880 graduates to be sent out into the world by one of rock's most legendary musicians.
In addition to Page, honorary degrees will be given to R&B songwriter Valerie Simpson, jazz pianist educator Geri Allen,
and American Music Program youth jazz orchestra founder Thara Memory. The ceremony will take place May 10, at the Agganis Arena in Boston, and will also feature a student concert to pay tribute to the honorees.
