Badass Guitarists on 2018 Rock Hall of Fame Nominee List!

October 5, 2017

The 2018 nominees for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame were released today, and, thankfully, some awesome guitar players are on the list.

Fans can post THEIR votes for who should be inducted RIGHT HERE, so be sure to vote for your favorite guitarist!

Here are some awesome "video moments" to remind you of how brilliant these nominated guitar players are...

   SISTER ROSETTA THARPE

Evening dress, gospel choir, and a white, three-pickup Gibson SG. Wild!

   LINK WRAY

This ferocious rocker was touring and playing loud and gritty guitar almost right up to the moment he passed in 2005 at 76 years old.

   THE CARS

Elliot Easton is one of the super coolest, crazy melodic, and most sophisticated players to NOT be a Hall of Famer.

   RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE

Tom Morello absorbed rap and turntable techniques and evolved a futurist guitar style. Check out the fabulous madness starting around 4:00.

   BON JOVI

Richie Sambora — one of the best "Talk Box" riffers ever?

   DIRE STRAITS

A first-time nominee this year, it's hard to believe Mark Knopfler's incredible guitar playing wasn't celebrated before the class of 2018.

   JUDAS PRIEST

The twin-guitar attack of K.K. Dowling and Glenn Tipton in all of its glory.

   RADIOHEAD

The interlocking, dynamic, and cinematic triple-guitar attack of Thom Yorke, Jonny Greenwood, and Ed O'Brien inspired scores of modern players.

   J. GEILS BAND

Vocalist Peter Wolf is a charismatic frontman, but the late John Geils brought the blues power to the studio and stage.

   MC5

   Wayne Kramer! 'Nuff said!

   THE METERS

"Mr. New Orleans Funk" — Leo Nocentelli.
