Playing nine back-to-back shows in France, Italy, Belgium, Netherlands, Austria, Luxembourg,
Germany, Switzerland, and Liechtenstein in a single day, acoustic fingerstyle guitarist Jeff Aug set the Guinness World Record for Most
Concerts Performed in Different Countries in 24 Hours. After setting the same record three years ago by playing six concerts in six
countries, Aug was temporarily displaced in 2010—but it is difficult to imagine anyone topping his latest feat. “The Raw Fingers &
Steel Strings World Record Tour 2012 was a year in the making,” enthuses Aug. “The first four shows all took place in the middle of
the night, so there was no traffic to contend with, but things got more challenging after that, including taking motorcycle taxis to and
from the gig in Paris, and driving over the San Bernardino Pass in the Swiss Alps. The planets were aligned, however, and we arrived
at the final venue with enough time to spare for me to change strings before going on.”
