Those who aren’t conversant with the precise timbres of the original pedals can still dig the versatility of the FZ-5’s three flavors: a tough and booming, yet buzzy wail (F mode); a fantastically snotty treble screech (M mode); and a blistering, dimensional scream (O mode— providing you don’t crank the Fuzz knob, thereby obliterating the ringing harmonics of the octave effect).
