Barry Cleveland Ten Videos From the 2010 Montreal Guitar Show

The 2010 Montreal Guitar Show, held in conjunction with the 2010 Montreal Jazz Festival, was a spectacular event. More than 130 acoustic and electric luthiers from ten countries—including Japan, Hungary, France, and Italy—displayed their creations and talked shop with the thousands of folks that attended the show (and each other). Only a select group of guitar makers were invited by founder Jacques-André Dupont to exhibit, resulting in a stellar array of instruments from “rock star” luthiers such as Tom Ribbecke, Linda Manzer, John Monteleone, Ervin Somogyi, George Lowden, Jeff Traugott, and Ken Parker, alongside guitars from scores of both well known and up and coming builders. Also in attendance were tone wood suppliers; pickup, guitar case, strap, pick, and other accessory manufacturers; and even a few electronics manufacturers, such as Red Iron Amps and Two Notes Audio Engineering.

The Montreal Guitar Show also featured workshops and lectures, as well as dozens of mini-concerts and full-length performances by a wide range of extraordinary guitarists, including David Reinhardt, Charlie Hunter, Bob Brozman, Sylvain Luc, Monte Montgomery, Andy McKee, Matt Andersen, Yamandu Costa, Tony McManus, Don Ross, Gareth Pearson, and Bruce Forman.

Here are some videos I shot on the show floor. Look for photos and additional information in the November issue of Guitar Player and the July edition of GP2.
